HAVE YOU HEARD... ABOUT CRYING CLUBS
Some recent research suggests that the New-Man/Metrosexual trend whereby men are said to be getting in touch with their ‘feminine side‘ may in reality be more a contrivance of the media and marketing industry and may not have impacted as much as is claimed. People are now perhaps feeling obliged to 'parrot' current,' touchy-feely’ views and individual attitudes expressed may well be weighted by political correctness (for fear of being judged as unfeeling and/or callous.)

The Crying debate continues with cultural and biological factors playing the major part. Women cry more than men. Fact.
Prolactin, a hormone that affects how much people cry, is present in tears and is far more prevalent in women (men are thought to have four to five times less prolactin than women) and this has been cited as the reason why women generally cry far more than men.
Reports show that when men do shed tears it is less physical and there is rarely sobbing and shaking common in women’s crying.
Teachers and school-workers still report that it is rare at senior schools to see boys crying but that girls are very often in tears over something…..
Men are less willing to display their emotions through tears but does that necessarily mean less able?
There is no evidence to support the popular believe that men are intrinsically less capable of emotion than women.
Many are of the view, that men simply may have different coping strategies and a more pragmatic approach to trying to solve, rather than yield to, the problem that is the cause of the actual crying.
Perceptions of potentially distressing situations i.e. what makes us cry may also differ widely.
