- CONTRACTED SPEECH: = I’ll = I WILL; He’s = He is … is most often used in spoken English which is usually less formal than written English and which in practice you may not have experienced.
- COLLOQUIAL LANGUAGE = Words and expressions used in conversations but not in formal speech or writing is often used by Native speakers - for example - He's mad about football (= he loves it) He's hooked on televised games (= he never misses them) She's fed up with him watching football (= She's tired of him watching football).
- PHRASAL VERBS = Verbs with non literal meanings. Are frequently used in English Language conversations and are a common cause of confusion Check revision table here.
