HAVE YOU HEARD... STRESS

EVERBODY DIFFERS-FACT!

There is no single level of pressure that can be used as a gauge.
What is fun for one person may be distressing for someone else.
In a large multinational company - think of the person, whose role involves regular International travel, frequently giving talks and seminars about the company progression plans as well as attending press conferences and hosting public relations events all over the world.
Then, think about the person working in the same company who, as International head of administration, is based permanently in the London Headquarters and whose role requires that he rarely travels - (save for the annual convention) and is almost never asked to speak publicly.
Now imagine they have top swap roles? – Result?
Boredom for the former who loves to be ‘out there’and stress for the latter who thrives in a stable routine-based setting.
Even in generally agreed distressing circumstances or events -(for example in war) - individual psychological and physiological responses will vary.

Better to avoid stress in the first place-but how?

A diet of good nutritious regular meals (no skipping breakfast and living on coffee and biscuits).
Exercise, (aerobic –could just be walking -30 minutes three to four times a week).
Rest (get enough sleep to replenish brain and body every night).
Relaxation - do something to switch off (apart from go to the pub!) have an interest that takes you away from thinking about work
(You don’t have to become a train spotter or even play golf!)
Have a social life - stay in touch with family and friends….
These are all factors that are thought to play a crucial part in helping us stay well!
