David says :: “When I first came to London I was slightly surprised by the drinking culture that is a big social draw - but in a new job I just couldn’t afford the ‘Hangovers’!
I don’t think its’ just about stress though and I do enjoy the Friday-after-work quick wind-down at the pub. |

Tom says : “Well it’s just like the old saying ‘One man's meat is another man's poison'.
Personally, I never drink to drown my sorrows-I’m a Happy drunk! I hate to drink alone too and I’m not a good loser - so if we have a bummer of a day I’ll either head home to bed with my sounds or pound it out at the Gym”. |

Victoria says : : “I think everybody gets stressed out sometimes and it’s sad to think that people don’t all have support of friends and family to help - I suppose I’m lucky really I can pick up the phone anytime (to my Mum usually) I did go through a period of not sleeping when I first got here but my Nan’s herbal remedy Valerian did the trick”, |

Emma says :
“Quite honestly Men’s Egos are a lot to blame- if they hadn’t put themselves on such high pedestals in the first place….. interesting that the research quoted in the article comes from a man? Sounds like he’s saying yes its’ harder for women but they are blessed with the skills of communication? Perhaps Barmaids should be offered training in stress counselling!”
Oooooh Emma…….isn’t that a bit harsh? |
